This is an old barrack in the Marin Headlands. I like trying to find the time that matches the light between day and night. The light from behind is the sunset, the light on me is the rising moon coming between the open window panes. There was also a small window behind the camera which let a little light in also.
I tried some tonemapping to bring some detail from the inside of the barricks. Sharpened and selective color for the reds and thats it.
The time of exposure was 8:04 PM.

This is such a cool place to photograph. Love it all, but feel that I'd have liked the person to be looking out towards the ocean (not that it has anything to do with lighting. The perspective is wonderful - love the roof and beams.

Nice work, Joe. Moonlight you say? I also like the stars (satellites pehaps) in the 'night' section of the sky as well.

Wow, can't get any more natural than that. Fantastic photo. I can only hope I can shoot something as close as good as yours.

Amazing composition and great contrast between the gorgeous light and the gritty barracks. Nice work.

What I love about a lot of your shots are that you include such a dramatic sky in them. This one is beautiful. Love the splash light shining in on you - can't believe it's the moon!. Good job holding still for 30 seconds lol

Love that awesome composition. This looks like the much-coveted "golden hour", and the light looks beautiful indeed. That's pretty awesome that that's moonlight lighting you up!

Great use of lighting, really nice shot. Ahhh, just over a year ago we were visiting that lovely area. Sigh!
