Wow. Did it. 30 days straight. The fun part is, I've changed my Free Study 3 times, and considered this shot (in color) as well this evening.

That's a good thing. :-) It's fun when you start getting some shots you really like.

They had just baled this field recently and it's public land, so I asked my son if he wanted to go out for a hike. Lent him my binoculars (there's usually deer in this field), and he was good to go.

It was fun. Had to leave just as the light was getting prime. I took this with a circular polarizer and a Cokin Sunset filter (for the added warmth).

Here's the color version:

What a great emotive photo. I can't tell which one I like better the color or B&W, they both look really good. What a great sky to work with.

The is such a neat shot. The little boy sitting on thr roll of hay is great. The sky is incredible! This is one of my favorites of yours in this b&w side challenge! Nice work!

This is a great shot - especially for someone who grew up in the country. Back then, the bales were bricks, not rolls, but we still stood up on them to see what we could see (at least until we got caught). I love the emotion of this shot - the innocence of childhood looking out over an unknown future. The sky adds to the sense of adventure. On an emotive level, I feel the shot to be a bit pensive, but hopeful at the same time. It definitely evokes emotion.

Tremendous picture. Love the sky and the shadows on the side of the hill. I swear I'm buying a wide angle soon.
