I might have suggested a solid backdrop to eliminate distraction from your focal point.

Interesting interpretation. This could have worked well with the correct crop, angle, and eliminating the background.

Love the idea of the photo. It would have worked better for me if it was cropped down some.

I just tried it and it really looks a lot better with a much tighter crop. Especially losing the foreground, but if you cut it close enough so the stuff in the back is almost gone and the front is cropped just enough to save the shadow, it's a pretty interesting shot. Hope this is helpful.
