I, again, followed Heida's tutorial on post processing but I left out the second levels step and stopped there as it made everything a bit bright (the sky especially). I then burned in the sky a bit using highlights at 4%. Then I went back and used the brush in overlay with blue and tinted it a bit so it wasn't so blown out. I used USM then used the history brush on all of the grass and trees. After resize, I used NI, sharpened, then used the history brush again on the grass and trees to soften them back up.
I adjusted the canvas size twice for the border and resized again. Saved for web and uploaded. Went back and cropped out the negative space on the right, made the border smaller, re-entered LOL

I got a strange effect here and hope no one thinks I cut and pasted the kids from another photo because that is what it looks like to me LOL

FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

I am not digging the moody look on the kids faces, kids are supposed to be full of fun and frivolity, not looking as though they are in a police line-up. post-processing looks a bit harsh to me. 6

First thing I noticed is they all look unhappy. The forground is a heavily shadowed, with bright areas in the backgorund. Perhaps some fill in flash may have helped.

I like their expressions. This makes me think I shouldn't force a smile in my shots. There is so much more expression than a smile can bring.

I like the way your subjects are positioned.

Great shot. Good luck.

The little girl is classic. The antithetical portrait.

Lovely, almost classical group portrait. Group composition is very good, sharpness, colors and contrast are fine. I would have liked a slightly shallower DOF, and a little more precission in dodging and burning. (7)

Yup those smiles are definitely on the wane!! I can almost hear the cries of 'Mum/Dad are you finished yet'

Nice leading diagonal

I really like the posing here...nice shot... not overly fond of the idea of 'after the pose' they are much to handsome to not have some expression that draws me to look longer...gl 8

I love this shot. Something about the colors seems off, though.

Fine composition but it looks too dark and contrasty to me.

FUNNY. I think this would be great in black and white since so much is going on with the varioius stripes, positions, etc. What a cute family.
