 So it was all the way to the 28th and I didn't really have much to enter this month. So I grabbed my camera and headed to a favorite walking path on a day that was intermittent downpour/sunshine. Days like that are fun to walk around in. By the end, I had too many shots to choose from and had a great deal of difficulty picking. I did like this shot though for the contrasts...life and death...green and brown...smooth and textured. We'll see how it does.

Growing back in September, that's beautiful. Looks so much like a Spring image. I went to a burn area a couple days ago, and there was a lot of new growth, very green, there too, in the middle of all the brown and black. Nature is fascinating.

Reincarnation is false, even for plants. Nice sharp image, but needs a better title.

Simple and good color contrast. It evokes the fragility of life - at least to me. Well composed. One of my favorites so far. Good luck in the challenge. 10

It will be another six months before we get the slowly unfurling ferns :¬(
This is a super photo - really crisp, with an excellent choice of depth of field to show the fern off to best advantage. I parrticularly like the way you have captured the dead, decaying leaves - the colours and textural detail are superb.

Wow. Great detail. The dof is really nice as well. Makes the green stand out. The detail in the leaves is awesome.

Nice control of the depth of field. Nice juxtaposition of color and subject. I wonder if a slightly tighter crop would have worked better. I wouldn't have wanted you to loose the texture of the leaf to the left though. Nice shot.

I think what would have made this shot better is if you had scrapped it and went with something else. Say like some fern type leaves using a cool mulitply layer or something. Yeah - that would have been awesome.
