 I like to take photos like my Lady of the Mist and play with it, pushing until I create something entirely different. With this I pushed the contrast, then did a little dodge and burn to highlight areas and shadows even more, then I added the fire in layers that were constantly increasing in opacity and intensity, then I added the "moon/star" with PS brushes, and finally I lightly added the color of the fire to the rest of the image. Oh, and I also put color back into Mouse's eye. On a personal note, I do feel that this horse pulled me out of the ashes.

Very artistic and creative - the title is perfect for it. And as I've said, this is an incredibly beautiful animal - you are indeed fortunate to have such a lovely, powerful model!
