 The shot is a metaphor for the dichotomy of normality and depression, emphasizing the dark and relentless gravity between those states.

Taken a little after midday with bright afternoon sun. Several shots of the 20 foot waterfall were taken. The selected image was tightly shot and then marginally cropped to produce the emotive image I was looking for. Minor curves adjustment produced a more sombre tone in the falling water and a richer gold in the stonework.

Your image makes an interesting visual tryptch (sp?)I like the right hand 2/3rds. The left hand side seems flat to me in comparison to the motion of the water and the texture.

Love the colours in this, the look of the water is beautiful. I think it would be a stronger composition if it were more on an angle...try shooting it diagonally. But I do love it so I am giving it an 8.
