Taken with Nikon D100. Leo, our bengal cat, was in the window posing for me. This was taken with a 70-300mm lense and a fd, uv, and a polarizer filter. I used the depth of field feature on the camera. I hope this counts!

This has a haze over it. Its not as sharp as it needs to be. I think it would be much better with the cat's eye open as well. I'm not wild about the idea either. I'm not sure how it works for this challenge.
what a sweet photo! definitely one that i would keep working on. looks to me like you've clipped the image a little too much when trying to edit out the background. a little more work and this would be great.
Because the background has been removed, there's no way to really tell if this meets the challenge or not. The framing and the cat's expression are interesting, though.
