cropped slightly, levels, color balance, exposure, reduce size, add border, save for web.
This is the way the sky looked and the way it was captured, although there is a lot of red hiding in those clouds. I tried boosting the color (with levels and curves adjustments), because DPC seems to adore orange backgrounds for silhouettes, but the sky became a distraction, and I'd rather keep the focus on the silhouette, which I really like.
I took this during an early morning Fall migration bird count.

Jutilda suggested a tighter crop (see comment below). I still prefer the wider shot, because of the vastness of the sky.

I love this one (obviously since I was one of your three 10's). Quite disappointed that it finished in 91st place with a 5.7. Baaaaaaaaaad voters!

| Really nice but if it had been mine, I'd have cropped it (maybe square - but that's my choice) and concentrated more on the bird. The curve of his neck and his bill really is interesting and all of the trees just clutter it up in my opinion. The silhouette is crisp and sharp against the sky, so I think I'd concentrate on the bird a bit more. ;~D |

| I like this scenery, love the colours here as well... altho to me would've worked better if it was more wide angle! I want to see more of teh scenery!! |
