This is a bit better. There are still some shadows, and the bottom of the bowl is fuzzy which I think is the diffraction of the light through the glass. I probably need to read a how-they-did-it but this is what I think so far.

1. Moving the light to be behind the subject helps reduce the reflections.
2. I also made sure the top of the light box was closed.
3. The polarizer helps. I had an old one from another camera and positioned it in from of the lens.

I think that a soft light that evenly fills the box would work much better as it would cut down on the shadows.

I like the conrast here and but I think the other shot was a bit sharper.

You're giving me the urge to try this...well, almost. :) Not sure I have the patience to work on this type of setup. I like the contrast on this one better than the first.

Keep having fun!

very nice. You seem to be perfecting your technique. I agree that this one is a bit softer than the first.

I like the other one better for sharpness, but it is cool to see (and read about) the reflections being gone.

You definitely got rid of the reflections, and this is quite nice. I agree that the bottom of the bowl is fuzzy. You've also got some "banding" in the white near the bottom. There are still some minor reflections in the base of the glass. But all in all, this is definitely better than your first attempt. It does make a very cool shot.
