I think it would be more serene if it were not so closed in. Serenity needs vast relaxing expanses for the mind to wander. Here, the straight across lines put up a blockade rather than leading the eye and mind out to infinity -- and the storm.

Yep - what Purple and Patio said. :)

I'll add that I LOVE the thought. Reminds me that "Courage isn't the absence of fear, but carrying on in the face of that fear."

I like the image but to fit the quote would like to see a more threatening sky...:)

Ooh, I love the saying. Partly because I first saw the word 'serenity', glanced around the picture, thought "Hmm, I'm not convinced this is very peaceful at all", then I read the rest of the sign and it all made sense :)

Saying that, while I love the message, my feelings about the image are somewhat ambiguous. It's good, but it just doesn't quite have the right impact. A close-up of dramatic waves with a little chunk of sky would have worked. Or having a proper full-on dramatic sky with dark dark clouds in this image. As it is, the sky looks rather calm, the beach looks rather calm, and the only bit of drama are the waves, which aren't enough of a focus to pull it off.

At the same time, I do rather like it :)

Actually, I'd love to see you attempt this another couple of times, keeping the same slogan, but getting slightly different shots to go with it. Who knows what wonderful things you might end up with. If you decide to take on the challenge, report back to me and the TSHQ :)
