Meet Hammy, from the movie "Over the Hedge". No burning or dodging here - he was perfectly situated in a sunny spot.

I like how the light skims over his whiskers on both sides. ;~D

The tail is great. Closer cropping (perhaps even so severe as right below the jaw) would emphasize it even more.

Looks just a touch blown out around the face on my monitor. Good detail, especially in the tail. Wonder how this would look cropped landscape?

Great subject for a B/W photo, and the setting really works too. What makes this work for me is the tail - the detail jumps right out. There is also some natural vignetting in play here. If I was to make any suggestion it would be to give that eye just a touch with the burn brush.

Good timing on this catch!

Awww this is an awsome capture. One of my friends on this site ( robinssong ) takes a lot of squirrel shots. She would definately love this photo. I will have to tell her about it. Love the sharp contrast but yet the squirrel seems soft. You have kept the detail in the fur. Just wonderful.

talk about being in the right place at the right time - and I mean both of you - this is super. Glad you saw what you had and left it that way.
