 I've been trying to take a photo of any Heron for the past 2 weeks. They are so elusive, and tend to quietly soar away before you can blink any eye. I was very fortunate he stood still long enough for me to take about a dozen images of him.

Cropped, adjusted color levels manually, ran thru textures at 25% transparency, added about 20% softness, resized for web, added border.

Yeah, herons are hard - easily spooked. I gave this a 10, as I thought the quality of light you captured here was just outstanding.

Wonderful composition and lighting for this challenge. All the space works well because the Heron is looking back into it. I voted earlier in the week (7) but wanted to leave some comments.
