Thanks for all the great comments :)) Editing was curves, levels, channel mixer desat, colour balance to get some warmth in, soft light layer reduced to 21% and curves adjustment on that.
New layer and added some canvas texture which I reduced to barely seeable, added mask. New layer underneath that of the lightest colour in the image.
Back to top layer and reversed the mask (hidden image) Then white on mask, just painted image back with 40% oil painting brush till I liked how it looked.
Some parts were still a bit too dark in the foreground so duplicated top layer and changed it to screen and lowered opacity, mask, hide. Using white paintbrush brush it on to some area.
I looked at the thumb and thought ewww Sue what have you done, when I opened it I was pleasently surprised to see this gentle scene. Lovely Sue just lovely!
So cool!! I just love this one. The composition is against most "rules" out there but creates such a powerful juxtaposition against the industrial-feel background. I agree with snowflakejen that we can almost feel the little daisy trying to survive in this unfriendly world. Should be made as a poster for some environment cause.
Sweet! Love your "just a daisy" interpretation! This is remarkable - the background really makes this shot for me. It really helps give life to this little flower - almost like it is trying to grow and survive in the concrete and brick world around it.
