Challenge: Impressionism II (Advanced Editing V*)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 ED
Location: Hampstead Heath, London
Date: Sep 4, 2007
Galleries: Abstract, Blur

This was a reflection in a pond. I did some saturation, rotated 180 degrees, and cropped off a little bit. I kept the steps into the pond (which are now at the bottom of the picture) because I like how it seems to support the picture.

I like the way you achieved impressionism without a filter I gave you a 10 :)

Awesome work! The only thing I can suggest that might have made it a little more interesting is some darkening of the bottom edge of the "bank". It would have added some needed contrast and provided stability. Great job though. - 8

i would recommend cropping out the bottom a little more so just the first layer (darker part) of the cement is showing.

The bench seems somehow out of place.

Ah Ha! Love it! This is what I decided to do too. I hope the voters appreciate this approach with the 'natural' impressionism filter of the water reflection. Your colors & depth are much better than I was able to capture though. My favorite by a long shot. -10-

A clever way to get an impressionistic feel without using filters (not that filters are bad). Good job.

Looks like a great interpretation of impressionism using 'natural' effects rather than being too heavily reliant on filters. Super job
