Hi Mk,

I have similar photograph with this theme... but mine looks really old and rusty. It's a lock from the lighthouse near the ocean in Barbados. I will post it next time to show ya. ^.^ I just love your composition.

This photo has a strange serenity to it. Amazing composition and a lovely depth of field to add to the softness of an item that normally represents durability and strenth. (IMO something that would normally be represented in a harsh, sharp way). Great shot. This is going in my favs!

Backatcha. :-)

This is one of my favorite pics - not just in your portfolio but in general here. Why? It's simple, uncluttered, clean, and oddly relaxing to look at. And it stands alone without any "challenge description" to explain it. I just like it.

very good composition and DOF, black and white works perfectly. If it were me i would have chose a different angle for the light source to illiminate the keys more or else perfectly sillohouette them instead. The sort of "half-sillouhette" you used just doesn't appear as much to me though. -8

Very moody photo. I love it. Nicely done in b/w, good lighting/composition and the shallow dof works really well. 9

A really good shot here. On first glance I looked at the darkness of the top key, didn't like it to begin with, but now feel it adds quite nicely to the shot.

A good DOF, the keys and barrell are good. JPEG compression has taken away some of the colouring at the bottom. 9

DOF is good, but nothing really stands out in this commonplace subject matter.

very nice. the leading lines of the dorr moldings strengthen the shot. I like the linear contrast between the dangling vertical keys and the horizontal key in the lock. lighting is good and moody.

Would have liked more light on the bottom of the key to differentiate it from the background and the lock to have more dof. otherwise nice composition.

Black and white is absolutely the right choice and really throws the focus onto your lovely use of light and shadow.
