I dont know about the angle of the shot but I do like it much better without the distracting background.

I like this one better :D

If you want to take a look at some wonderful processing techniques, check out the portfolio of

sherpet, she shoots a lot of flowers.

ursula is also an AMAZING flower shooter.

Your composition is good. The only flaw I see is that tiny little bit of something on the petal of the flower that is distracting my eye... I don't know if you are aware that the eye generally begins at the top right corner of a photograph and goes clockwise from there.
