 We get lots of herons landing in the ponds on either side of our neighborhood (and occasionally nesting in the trees). One day I decided to follow one that flew over my house and this was probably the best of the shots I got (at 300mm w/monopod).

Very nice. I really like how the blue of the heron really stands out against the green grass. I also agree with the previous person about the effect of the grass\'s reflection in the water. Very cool.

I like the reflections in the water. Neat effect that the grasses give...looks like star bursts. :) A little bit of PP would make this photo stand out I think. Nice job of catching this shot.
