taken at sundown using reflected light from a building as the backlighting... hope this doesn't bend people's ideas about suitability for the challenge. focal length 300mm. not an easy focal length for me to get sharp with this lens, :(. Prediction 5.7, I know that voters will be looking for something a bit more obvious.

typical processing, levels, curves, hue and sat, resized, sharpened using smart sharpening and saved for web

The reflections are lovely. The backlighting effect may be a bit muted for a backlighting challenge, but it's still there. Nice.

its hard to see how this meets the challenge well ... it is a stunning picture .. but I can not see the light source or even that the source is "back" from the picture. Stunning shot though.

If you would have cropped some off the bottom it would be more pleasing

Very nicely golden.

I don't think the shore at the top is necessary. A tighter crop would make this a very strong photo.

Rocks on the top are slightly distracting.

I like it but, IMO, I think that it would have been better with the top removed (so we see only the waters and the boat)

Hard to tell where the light source is coming from

This is lovely but the boat and indeed the dog dont stand out much because they are a similar colour to the water
