i actually took this picture for a school assignment "up close and personal". this is my horse's eye and trust me, it's never stayed open this long before in her life. i've tried to get pictures of her eyes before (really, who wouldn't want to get a good shot of those - i'm actually jealous of my horse's eyelashes!) and every single time she would blink right as i clicked the shutter. every single time. however, this particular time, she just sat there staring at me while i fired away. praise God, i ended up with a good grade in the class and an awesome picture to look back at. it was early january and it had just snowed so the background of the areana made for a really good silhouette reflection of me in her eye.
