The one thing I see every day is corn. Corn is everywhere around here, and when I see this corn I know I'm close to home since it was taken in a field close to my house.

Earlier this summer they put a curving path right in the middle of the cornfield. I don't know who "they" are, but evidently it's open to the public and there's a small map there showing that it goes way back in the cornfield.

It was really overcast but the clouds looked interesting so I did the HDR treatment.

First real shoot with my new lens!! I was just a bit surprised when I realized that wickee_one bought this and had it waiting for me when I got home from work yesterday. The lens is big and heavy and makes great images.

HDR is perfect! Kind of eerie, actually, like Stephen King's 'Children of the Corn'....
Is this a single or multiple shot HDR? If it is composed of multiple shots, it must have been a very still day as the leaves look sharp as a tack!

Interesting shot -- we're so used to seeing blue skies that this overcast looks a little strange at first. Good texture in the clouds and details in the corn stalks.

Congratulations on the new lens -- you'll build up some muscle carrying it around. 8)

Oh... this takes me SO far back... Paternal grandparents.... running threw the fields, and having NASTY grasshoppers sticking to my legs. FUN! Absolutely lovely image. (despite the grasshoppers, they are wonderful memories, thank you for taking me back.)

Detail is stunning. HDR is perfect for this shot.

I hope you're eating some of that corn. Yum Yum! And yay for wickee_onefor getting you such a cool lens!

I'll be seeing a lot of corn next week when I drive across Indiana and Illinois. Hope to get some decent photos. This has a somewhat ominous feeling. Good clarity. I assume you used a tripod and there wasn't much breeze. The sky looks more natural to me than in your HDR photo with the river.

Congrats on the new lens. What a thoughtful present!

I love the dramatic clouds in this one, as they appear to be coming in on top of you, and the fields of corn growing so close, one could almost touch them.
