LaRee, very nice capture. Others mention the colors, the shutterspeed and the background. You cannot control the background all the time. It looks fine, but maybe cropping a wee bit off the top would make it better.

I can tell there is speed involved due to the spray of the water from behind the ski. I am amazed people actually voted this low (2 and 3).

Very good.

Ben, I wanted to get a sharp shot. I thought the fact that the jet-ski is mostly out of the water, and the spray behind, body posture of the rider etc. portrayed speed. He was going very fast.
digifotojo, I can assure you I did the best I could with the background. I moved up and down the beach always paying attention to the background. It is what it is, but I appreciate your feedback.
psart, thank you so much for your comment. You *got* what I was trying to accomplish here. I actually was on my belly on the edge of the water. Photo was taken at 300mm, f/10, 1/800.
I want to thank each of you for leaving a comment.

Something lacking here. Not enough bright colors, water too dull and the background looks like an afterthought.

You must of been flying along beside him to get this shot. psart 8

I don't think the fast shutter speed, which has frozen everything, adds any sense of speed to this shot unfortnately.
