 THE SHOT: I love doing food shots. Had to have a go at this challenge. Basically cooked it all up and positioned it. Light from a window. Used the ever sharp and contrasty Nikon 50mm 1.8 handheld. Named the shot after our friend's new baby Toby. Congratulations Ben and Jo!

THE EDIT: Basically levels, USM, some dodge and burn and sharpen and blur. Nothing else really.

PREDICTION: Hope it makes mouths water! 6.7?

POST: Well I bombed in a challenge I wanted to do really well in. After entering this, I looked over my outtakes and think I had better images than this one...Oh well...next time

This looks really appetizing right now... although I'm not sure it looks fast... I'm still moving it up from a 7 to an 8... nicely done

Oh, but for the grease on the paper in the foreground! Very unappealing, which is a shame. This is colorful, interesting, nicely framed & lit. I'm also thinking the knife wants to be handle first...

I could have lived without the black frame. But I really like the heavily saturated colors, and it actually looks quite yummy in a fast-food kind of way. Good arrangement.

Man I wish they served stuff like this in the fast food joints in my town. Great layout, great colors, nice dof. Order me up 2 please. This has the distinct feel and style of a certain pastor way down under. ;)

Did you get hungry doing this one? Nice mix of clearly shot items.
My eyes are immediately drawn to the lemon and lime drink (was that your point of focus?) I like the back of this shot more then the front. I think if there was a little more contrast on the burger (more like the contrast levels at the back)the whole thing would hang together a little better.

Aside from the lighting being a bit too harsh, I really like your composition. One of the few entries that for me, meets the challenge. Well done and good luck.

would be ebteer if the tomato sauce and onions weren't spilled. otherwise very well done, good lighting and composition
