The title has nothing to do with the shot except that to me, it looks like it's very late at night. I also really like the song.

What really happened is that I was walking back to my car after taking some pretty run-of-the-mill pictures of waves in the twilight, when a group of Little League baseball players ran onto the beach. I think they had just won their game and were dunking their pitcher. At any rate, someone's headlights picked them out on the beach. I only got a couple of shots and then they ran back to the car. This is what you get when you hand hold while carrying a camera bag and tripod. I aimed in the general direction and tried to manually focus.

I really like the composition and overall feel of it. I wish he were a little clearer, just so I knew it was a person without reading your notes. But hey, you got a good shot under fast-changing circumstances. Well done!

Even when you don't try to hard you turn out exquisite photos using blur! What a lucky thing that he was wearing such bright orange to contrast with the beach and the dark water and horizon. This is good! (of course)

The noisiness could probably stand to be toned down a little, but overall I really like this capture - despite the OOF, clearly recognizable as a beach and the main subject is well lit and stands out well in all that murky darkness. Somber, but with a hint of menace - that black shape in the water heading towards the figure.

oooo, yes. this works perfectly. dark, mysterious. the colour being picked out makes the viewer's focus so easy. we know it's water, we can see the swell. i can almost smell the salt.

a little too dark for me; the image is well lit & emphasized...

Very nice, beautiful, dark image. Love the rich dark tones.
