This is totally contrived.

The shot is actually a reflection of the lamp and arch in the widow of an antique shop. The clock is inside the antique shop. I was fooling around with gaussian blur and did a layer with the blur at around 50 pixels. I set it to multiply and blended it a little with the unaltered background. By that time I had lost the clock completely, so I cut and pasted it from another version of the same shot that I had done earlier.

Maybe you guys will throw me off the thread for cheating, because this was actually shot at around 8:45 a.m. on my way to work.

Wow. Very, very neat... the light, the colors... the atmosphere here is really creepy somehow!

I like the colors and angles a lot, but I'm with krnodil - I'd suggest cutting off some of the empty area on the left.

Twilight Zone-ish. Very effective shot, although I feel like maybe too much of the frame (on the left) is all black.

Hey, great job! Your digital contriving really paid off. Now we know for sure we can't believe anything we see in photos :) I love the dim, cozy after hours look.

I like this a lot. Like a little nightly vignette. The mauve/pink with the warm glow of the amber from the light is a nice combination. All of the black works and the scroll of the lantern's base and the clock face add a nice bit of roundness to all of the straight lines.
