But this is for anyone who doubts you could get this shot in one frame.
This is just being in the right place at the right time with the right telephoto equipment.
From the Iwo Jima Memorial, the moon and the Jefferson Memorial are about the same size, and down in the haze on the horizon, they require about the same exposure. This is also the real color as I saw it (well, maybe a little too saturated) - the Memorial really does have a green tinge I keep removing in processing.
I didn't use this in the Free Study because the moon was quite blurred in the haze. I also liked the composition I got in my entry better.
