one finds the darndest things in the garden..never see these without the macro lens!!

they were pretty adamant about having their privacy..I had to follow them up & down & all around the leaf.

yes, that is my lens hood reflected in the top bug's shell.

EDIT: crop, covert to B&W added grain to give it a Private Investiator/low rent kind of feel, resize

Ha! I didn't even realize that was two bugs until I read your comments. I thought it was a reflection. I think it's interesting how such a nicely blurred shot still shows such a sharp glossy reflecting look in the shell.

Has that seedy porno look to it, with the grainy blur. :) Had a good laugh imagining you persistently following these poor bugs around as they tried to maintain their privacy. To avoid distraction from the main event, I'd clone out that bright spot in the middle of the right hand side of the frame.

This is awesome. I love the grain -- and I love the look of that bottom bug. It looks like its a reflection of the top bug. This is a great use of blur to enhance a photo!

This has a a good abstract quality. I think because you expect the bottom but to be a reflection but it doesn't quite match up.

It seems we have a peeeeeeping Anni on our hands! It makes me feel like the one bug's spouse hired you and you were using the infrared camera to catch the dirty deed.
SUCCESS!

Hey! that's OK! your impression is what I was going for, this being an intrusion, if you will, into a very private act (even if it is bugs-LOL!!)...
So I wanted this to feel seedy..cheap..lowrent...snapshotish all on the part of the photographer;
seems by your assessment, I have succeeded!!
cool!
