Send your gourds to stargazer, she makes painted bird houses out of them ! I like the purple in the BG. |

Damn splinters! Maybe I should marinate it... |
nah! don't bother...that's the beauty of hot oil, natural sterilizing agent, sure to kill whatever you can't get off in the sink. (besides, I think dog pee is sterile)
yuck! |

I'm just a CA nut. I'd eat the fence if it was fried and tasted good.

Odd.
Lemme go check the Olive Garden and see if they have any. | \
BEH! not at olive garden, dear..they cater to the masses who know not much about Italian/Latin food...give it a try -I promise you won't die. My husband says it's just b/c we like eating things breaded and then fried..LOL. Let me know what you think.. I tell you-you'll be happy!! (unless you're an "I don't eat fried foods sort of person"? you know CA healthnut & all that)

looks yummy-not sure you know they can be eaten, actually a delicacy in MX & italy..pick them when they're open like that, keep cold, rinse before cooking, dredge in egg/milk mix, then Italian seasoned breadcrumbs...lightly sautee in pan with olive oil & browned garlic, voila! I like them best with mayo on sandwich, but also good with hummus, tomoatoes, anything!
Enjoy!
