 I'm not going to apologize for the extreme candidness of this shot. When your son and your daughter are not only getting along but playing together and making each other laugh, you don't have time to worry about the fact that their hair is sweaty and their faces are dirty from running around outside, or to do anything about the major flash shadows you know you'll be dealing with, or to, um, remember that you have your ISO set a leeetle bit high, or whatever. You just catch it while you can, because tomorrow they'll be back to "I'm going to TELL!" and the like.

(actually, my kids get along pretty decently most of the time, not that we don't have our share of bickery moments. They're pretty good friends overall.)

Anyway. This is Fred. Fred was my puppet when I was a little girl. When I was a teen I put him in a box and didn't think much about him until a week or two ago when I was at my parents' house, and they had opened that box in some reorganizing they were doing. So Fred came home with us for my kids to enjoy. It's good to see him getting played with again.

To me this photo is IMPROVED rather than worse for the things like the sweaty dirty faces because it emphasises what a wonderful moment this is (rather than being posed etc)
