 Ended up staying home from work today - hubby was sick yesterday, I wasn't well today. Bummed the morning away but it was so beautiful outside (our heat wave finally broke) that we had to do something. So we spent a couple hours walking (slowly) around the zoo.

It must have been feeding time for these guys. In all the time at the zoo, we spent the majority of it watching the prairie dogs! The kids just loved them - tigers, monkeys, naahhh, lets go watch the prairie dogs! They're not exactly a rare creature here in Manitoba, but they've got so much personality! The rest were running around and trying to escape (I have a shot of one climbing the wall of their enclosure, another trying to leap from a branch) while this guy just sat and ate in the sun. Pure contentment!

Yay for prarie dogs, they ae so cute! I like to watch animals that are interesting too, these guys look like the have little personalities, they would be fun to capture.
