This is just wonderful. At first I thought it was glass of some sort...but then I read your description. I love to play with light and shadow. You have done a splendid job with it here.

I like the way the object in this photo is just a shape, and the detail comes from the texture of the wood.

This is cool. I don't know if that's a tree or what, a shadow or paint outline. I like the texture on it. Good idea for the shot. 9

This one enchants me like a tongue twister (fun to say, fun to look at, grasps the attention many times). In this photo, the negative space -- the yellow surrounding the silhouette -- seeps into my perception of the subject itself, which carries some of its texture. The golden color appeals to me, and the swirls in the glass are as inviting as those in the Van Gogh "Starry Night." The shadows in the upper left and right transform the gold into a kind of halo. Very, very nice. 8

I don't feel this photo has a lot of negative space in it, but I like the feeling this gives a lot. It's almost like a painting. The photo itself would get an 8 or 9 from me, but because I feel that it doesnt meet the challenge, I have to give ... 6 -lennier

That's an interesting take on negative space.. Leave a little more room around the edges and it'll get a higher vote from me..
