It's starting...

7 years ago at this time of year I made some major changes to my life, all of them for the better. One change that was more minor was that I started running again, after probably 10+ years without doing it more than a few times a year.

I started running during my lunch hour at a park and one of the first things I noticed were the colors changing. I believe it was early or mid August. I never noticed it before. Over the years I realized that it wasn't a fluke and that every year the leaves started to slowly change at this time of year, usually on the smaller trees, followed by the larger ones.

So every year when I see the colors start to change I'm reminded of how quickly life passes by. Enjoy the colors because they'll be gone before you know it.

The changing leaves in the foreground with the green leaves in the back perfectly illustrate your narrative. I especially like the transitioning colors of the leaf in the bottom right.

Time does pass quickly, I love how this looks like a painting. The leaves turning won't happen here (Texas) until around October. The background is great, awesome shot!

This is beautiful! I love taking pictures of fall leaves. I cannot believe this is happening there already. Love the red and orange glow of the leaf.

What a beautiful palette of autumn colors you have captured in this fine shot.

Geesh, fall already? I will look forward to more fall images from you! This image is very striking with the one bright orange leaf and the others in various stages of turning. Great comp too. I'm from southern California where there is very little change in the seasons, and even after a couple years in New York and five in New Mexico I'm still amazed by the changing colors!

I really like this & the comments you posted are so true. Time will fly by & leave you in the dust if you let it.
You really got some nice colors, I like how you incorporated the leaves in the back/top & didn't crop it to just the single leaf.

Lovely fall colors, as it is still in the 90's here. I love to run, and good for you to pick up where you (probably sort of) left off. It's the first mile that is always the hardest. And this is just one of the benefits.... enjoying life changing so subtly around us.

We don't have much of a leaf change out here, but your observations are good on all levels.

I'm really impressed with this photo. Really nice colors, both fore and aft, and good composition. But not just technically, I'm also impressed by your powers of observation -- and by the fact you run on your lunch hour! Seriously, I had no idea leaves began to change color at the end of July. I'm going to start looking for the first colored leaf, though in NYC I swear the leaves don't change color as much as they just turn brown.
