Ya'll may remember my daughter Megan. She and and went with a group to go cave diving at the Longhorn Caverns. This ain't your normal cave tour. We went through many passageways on hands and knees, and even crawling on our belly at times. We'd come out in these underground "rooms", some with pools. It quite an adventure. For this trip, I took Megans Canon Powershot. It did great until we got to a narrow passageway that was mostly filled with water. I put the camera in a baggy and in water tight box that another person had. We went through this passage where, at many times, there was only room between the water surface and the roof of the cave for our heads. On the other side of this passage we found out that the box was not really as water tight as it was intended to be. I am drying it out now and hoping for the best. Megan is hoping for a new camera.

Great shot, is Longhorn Caverns the ones south of Austin on !-35? I've been to those before, it was so fun! I don't know how much I would like it now (I've become a tad claustrophobic)...sounds like a few people here are also :)

Nice shot -- I love how she's framed within the natural shape of the cave.

Good luck with the camera.

Your daughter is lovely, but... count me among the claustrophobic. {shiver}

Sounds like a great time, except for the camera of course. Just yesterday I was thinking about when I went spelunking in high school and how we had to crawl like that. I haven't gone since but it was a blast.

Damn - that would freak me OUT. I've only been to Mammoth Cave and on a few tours in that area, but never really spelunking. CaustrophobiAAAA!

Sorry to hear about the camera - it could dry, though it might take a while. The photo is great. Looks like your daughter is having a blast.

I could not do this under any circumstances. I hope the camera recovers.

Cameras and caves - risky combo. Hope the camera is ok lol.

This is a pretty cool shot of your daughter. She's very pretty! Is that some kind of tunnel you guys had to crawl thru? My kids would love to do something like this!

Wow, amazing shot - this is the one thing I just could not do, anything OUTSIDE would be fine, but to crawl under THAT - the thought makes my skin crawl! I'm just a little claustrophobic!
