Note from photographer:
My goal here is for the viewer to share the sadness displayed by the bear and try to understand why he is sad. I used the black and white to convey a strong emotion. This photo was not cropped.

This is incredibly good. I missed this challenge so thanks for posting it in the "most viewed" thread. I'd hate to have missed this altogether! Wonderful.

haunting shot. at first I thought the bear was a rug hanging down. basssman has it exactly wrong.

Believe me, I want to like this image, because so many in this challenge ignored the meaning of the lyrics completely and forced a fit. But I truly do not understand the point. What am I missing here?

it would be much nicer if there were more distinction between the bear and the background. if it was not for the basic editing, a nice selective desat would have worked well here.

The muted color works in this shot. I especially like the way the bear looks like it's growing right out of the wall.
