Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm very happy that my "family" shot scored so high. I took these for a baby shower invitation. Here is the original unedited:

I wanted to submit this version, but was afraid people would vote down because of Mary's face so I cropped more:

And one without Mary peaking at all...

Great picture! Love the feeling.

Make me think of when my sister was pregnant, everybody was so excited when it was the first baby in our generation. But how sad as it is she had a miscarriage in her six month.
I feel really touched by this image, great work! :)

I would call this "expectation"...extreme emotion seems a little harsh.

Delightful! Although I must admit the man's hands threw me off for a second - the way they are placed I expected to see the woman's hands instead.

Should do well with this (I hope). :D Good luck!

It is a nice image and I like the one kid on the left looking. But, I believe this is only an extreme emotion to a very small group of people. Not everyone can relate to this image and for me it just isn't enough.

I like the eagerness displayed by all those reaching arms, and how you draw out several connotations of "expectation" in this image. The sly eye on the left is icing on the cake.

Excellent! Subject shows emotion very well. Image is well balanced and your choice of black and white does well for this shot. The little girl(?) looking at the camera really adds to this photo.

I really like that you showed just one half of one of the children's face. You showed great restraint (I have no way of knowing, but it might have been tempting to show more of the face or more faces) and it works so well. Her eyes convey enough for everyone.

Love the b+w... the kid at the left draws my attention to the presence of the photographer, which is a shame though.

Aww...you have one kid who just couldn't resist looking at the camera...lol. I really like the photo. Although I am slightly confused and I really hope not to offend anyone, but the arm with the ring on it, looks like it would be coming from the expecting mother...but it looks like a man's arm. The crop might just be slightly too tight.
