The face is a major element conveying emotion, contrary to the challenge's title and guidelines.

But the face of the person showing the emotion is clearly seen!

Faceless i suspect includes stone faces nice range of tones

But the emotion is all in the face - even if it is a stone face.

I like it, but wish it was tilted in the crop.

Faceless...?

Doesn't meet challenge.

Too much face in trying to convey the emotion.

out of focus, but a good idea, gives you some time to photograph it at least
but the subject isnt supposed to be the face....so unless you were going for an extreme expression of the ear i think you overlooked the challenge :P but cool idea =]

Hmm - the emotion is mostly conveyed via the face, regardless of whether it's stone.

I am sure by now you have 18 comments telling you you put a face in a faceless challenge so I will leave that alone. The black and white conversion is really nice and the tones work well. This appears to have been a small crop as it is abit noisy, not that that isn't what you were going for but what I see when I first look. From a composition standpoint my eye is drawn to the ear and nose from rule of thirds where the thirds cross thats what i focus on. however there does seem to be a lot of emotion in the statue.

Faceless? Hm maybe stretching it a bit...
07/26/2007 12:07:29 PM
so it's faceless, it's not human, but here are my comments about the pic,

composition wise i think it would have been better to include more of the statue => try to give it a more dramatic feel.

the focus is not that good, could use more sharpeness, but of course => more grain then, which is another problem, the image is to grainy, i would try neat image.

hope that was helpful

All it is is a face....
07/25/2007 06:23:15 PM
Think that counts as a face?

Doesn't really fit the faceless part of the category. Interesting sculpture, though.

this is a face

Ok but too much face. As a photo though how about making it darker with sharper contrast.
