Went to Lake Almanor last weekend and the lake was just to die for. That mountain is actually Mt. Lassen, an active volcano that is so high up that it has snow on it even in July (hard to see with haze and where I was shooting from)! Anyway, I caught this guy fishing (and I'm pretty sure he's picking his nose too, lol) off of a seemingly random rock. There was actually a little penninsula he must have jumped off of to get to that rock he's standing on, but that still must have been tricky. This is actually pretty close to the original color wise and I like the fact that the eater and the mountains are basically the same color.

oh and the fisherman is real :)

Beautiful image. I think the problem people are having with the fisherman relates to artefacts around him, as if that part of the photo has been sharpened more than the rest.

Haha, I thought he was standing on water at first! The mountains in the background are beautiful!

At first glance, the fisherman does look edited in. But its definately a fantastic shot! I would've loved to got a pic of someone picking their nose. Maybe he uses it for bait?

This is really cool. It looks like the fisherman is just floating in the air or like you photoshopped him in. Looks like a really beautiful place to visit.

The light on his back really gives him some nice contrast. The mountain in the background looks painted. Nice picture all around.

Glad you didn't square crop it.

At first, I thought he was hovering over the water. Very nice capture, it is beautiful.

Very good composition, and I agree with you about the colors. There's a lot of grain/noise, which doesn't detract too much, but I wonder if some selective denoising would clean that up. It's odd, but to me there's something about the fisherman and his rock that makes them appear to have been superimposed on the scene (not that I think they really were).

Love the way the striations occur in the background. This is lovely light and color.
