Aperture: 2.8
ISO: 250
Shutter: 1/1250

Alternate title: where are my eyes?

Editing was basically a series of layers to desaturate and add sepia tones.

The sun was really intense so I couldn't salvage the shoulder or the eyes

Very, very pretty shot. Congrats on your top 10! The lighting is excellent, the pose is gorgeous, and the whole thing has a dreamy feel to it.

Gorgeous! 10!

Lovely atmosphere about this, and great use of the light. The negative space to the right might be just a touch too dark (or conversely too light) - I ended up struggling to make out what it was, rather than being able to see or just ignoring it.

Beautiful lighting and composition. I love your post processing too. Perfect 10.

Wow! Nice location and well posed.

a closer cropping could improve this

wow, really nice. I like it! the "hard" frame is a bit disturbing in my opinion, so 9 points.

Love the lighting. I think you picked the perfect spot. The lighting is wonderful, I love the B&W conversion with the tone, and the composition is right on. I also love the border and would love to know how you did it. Very nice work. 10

I like this shot...I really do. I just believe in a portrait we should be able to tell who the subject is
07/21/2007 03:01:38 PM
well done, shame you can't see her face, being a portrait and all... 6

Nice picture. I fear there will be some that mark you down because of the title and say it's not natural light, but the spotlight appears to be the sun. Nice pose and composition. 7

You captured the ethereal beauty here to perfection. Truly, an absolutely lovely photo.

Wow, this is actually my favourite so far.
Exceptionally lit, great exposure, retaining detail in the stone and the subject. Interesting pose, subject and great composition.
I love it.

Gorgeous use of light. Definetely the best photo in the challenge.
07/19/2007 12:15:43 PM
I don't like that her hair is in her face. Also, the pixels in her left shoulder seem blown.
07/18/2007 10:50:19 PM
My highest rated, even better then mine.
07/18/2007 10:04:51 PM
Dreamy & mystic...interesting shot. *6*

Awesome! Man I've gotta find me a cavern or some ruined castle...Great work.
07/18/2007 04:41:50 PM
The light makes her stand out very well against the darkness of the stone.
07/18/2007 01:56:47 PM
Nice, but I would like to see more light on her face.
07/18/2007 10:57:15 AM
Deffinate ribbon here!!!! The only little thing I can see that is odd (like I have room to talk) is the border by her arm,(our left, her right) if the light would have went all the way to the edge or the dark went to her arm, would have made this absolutely perfect. But thats my opinion anyway!! The model fits the picture perfectly, everything else is just great, nice job, 10.

Tranquil.
This is a very good photograph but it doesn't say "portrait" to me.

I really like the lighting on this one. There are some blownout spots on the dress, but I guess it was difficult to manage the dynamic range to also keep details in the shadow.
