This is a photo taken by my friend. . .no. . . she's more like my sister, Annie ( Suiteness and who is the real life sister of TheresaA) yesterday at my father's funeral. The minute I saw it, my heart totally melted because it is a photo of one of the most stoic, "not-given-to-emotions", no-nonsense, giant of a man that I know. It's my sister's husband, Bruce, who had been the rock of my dad's life the past few years. He stepped in and became a true son to my dad. He took care of EVERYTHING my dad needed. I honestly don't know what we would have managed without Bruce.

This is a moment captured that you can't even know how special it is. Bruce just DOESN'T break down. EVER! Yet, the love and devotion he felt for my dad. . .and the grief he is feeling over his own personal loss. . .Well, I think Annie's photography captured something so precious, I will never forget this photo as long as I live!

Annie, THANK YOU!!!! I will always ALWAYS treasure this photo!

Sandy, I saw one of Annie's photos of the memorial service in her portfolio, which is how I found out about your father's passing.

Please accept my condolences and warm thoughts for you and your family. Losing a parent is a life altering event in one's life. It deserves a lot of attention and I am glad to see that you have support.

A mighty powerful moment indeed. Your dad was quite fortunate to have a son in law like that.

Big hugs Sandy...

How wonderful that your dad had such love and devotion from someone who wasn't even a relative. Very tender and sweet indeed. Bless Bruce for stepping in with love and care and bless your dad's sweet soul.
