This is Captain Cook, my neighbour's cat. He got his name, because he is so curious and areal explorer. :-) I know it's a bit unsharp, but those who have tried to photograph a cat know that it's almost impossible to gain that they look into the camera for a second. :-) Next ones will be better I promise.

Black cats are particularly hard to capture! Captain Hook looks just like my cat and I've been trying for a long time to photograph her. Quite difficult to get the lighting perfect to show details. When I do get the details sharp, the coat looks brownish. I have a white dog that's equally hard. I like the velvet look you captured.

Cats are special and worth photographing again and again. When I had my black cat (Sam) I would wait until he found a sunny spot and made himself comfortable. Then I would snap away. Captain Cook has expressive eyes and with a little lighting on his face and eyes, a portrait shot could be exciting.
