I don't know too much about "noise" but I read something about there being more noise the higher the ISO setting. In the camera reviews I've been looking at that seems to hold true.
I love this capture! the detail in the center, the color, the lighting...so well done! |

Wow, cool! "Abstractal" is a good way to put it.
You should call it, "abstractal edge of despair" or "despairing abstractal", or whatever :)

Blue/magenta/cyan channels always have more noise. ISO 400 on the rebel is also noisier than it is on, say the 20D. Macro, per se, has no effect on noise.
