Okay I don't quite remember all the editing steps. But I'll give it a try.

Adjustment layer - Hue/sat - desat all colors except red and magenta.
Select everything except link
Adjustment layer - hue/sat - desat
adjustment layer (above background layer)- hue/sat blend mode color - colorize
adjustment layer - selective color - adjust red and magenta
adjustment layer - curves - darkenbackground
unsharpen mask
Filter - gaussian blur
Edit - fade blur to 80% and change blend mode to soft light.
Resized
sharpened
save as jpeg

(I think that's what I did)

Selective desaturation works here, I'm guessing the full color looks pretty busy. Good job on getting the foa (focus of attention) to the subject.

I like this shot but feel the red is distracting, I;m sure you wanted to make it pop out but it looks a little over done. Good job on the perspective and DOF.
