My first outing with the new lens. Must say I found the thing pretty heavy (though I know some of the people here use lenses that are MUCH heavier). Took shots of anything and everything. This was on the rooftop of a building. I didn't see the pigeon was there until I was reviewing the photos later, but he really fits into the composition well.

Very clear shot! The pidgeon does fir in, he looks like a tiny statue.

What an interesting rooftop. All the lines and colors are mesmerizing. I like the fact that there are statues on the roof too.

I love how the lens brings the background so close -- it creates a great backdrop for the figures. Funny about the pigeon, because I think it's that third descending shape that really makes the photo special.

LOVE the lines in the background. This is very, very nice.

I have the equivalent lens for Nikon -- or did until I broke it a couple of months ago, and replaced it with the Tamron version -- and I've become very accustomed to basically carrying the camera by the lens. :)

The pigeon actually balances out the left side! I like how the roof is cascading down towards the statues. You'll get used to that lens weight - these days it's nothing for me when I carry it around for a long time.

I like the pattern that the roof in the background establishes

Amazing how the "decorations", including the pigeon, go in descending order. Those parallel "ribs" in the roof make a good background.
