This is a shot that I've done several times before, but no one has ever paid attention to it, but now that I have a captive audience.....

It's a window in a door of an industrial building about a block from the beach. It's always intrigued me that it acts as a "natural" frame for the three palm trees which are bout half a block away, along the railroad tracks.

We'll pay attention now, this is great! I love the one white line down the window pane(?).

Wow, I still can't make myself see anything other than a painting of trees on the window, that is stunning that's it's not a painting!

The wood does do a nice job of framing! The color casts and the textures of the glass give it some kind of antique feeling. Have you done this in black and white yet?

And here I thought this was just some kind of painting on the glass rather than real palm trees in the background... this is totally awesome! I'd love to see a 'brighter' version of this as well :-)

Captive and intrigued. I love all the detail in this image. The crackled paint is cool but the window itself is full of texture!

I just love this framed image very much, and I too would take tons of photos of it.....
Wonderful ageing quality, and could see this done is so many differant processing methods.....
Thanks for sharing it with us, and I love the square crop, as it really enhanses the image.....

How fascinating. I've been staring at this for a while now. To me it looks like a little painting of palm trees set in the wood. What a great catch - lovely colors.

Nice! I was curious as I looked at the picture, whether the palm trees were part of a poster that covered the inside of the window, or whether it was a reflection. Great seeing!

What a great image and I am glad you persevered till you got our attention

OK not only do you have the obvious contrast between the live trees and the decaying wood of the building, but you also have the wonderful framing of the trees

I guess the thing that really appeals though is that because the window is so dirty it has a real matt look to it which makes it almost appear as if the trees are painted on. I looks like an extract of a very old oil painting which has been revelaed during renovation

This is really cool and I love the muted colors and reflection. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Not sure about the centered composition, but it's still a great picture.

I thought the trees were painted on the window. Wow.

The reflection is so amazing (being the captive audience member that I am)... I wasn't sure if it was a plastered picture on the other side of the glass, or an actual reflection. Wonderful image, and I'm glad I was here to share in it.
