 Luckily the studio has a window. Luckily Shameema was around and had nothing to to do. Luckily Shameema is a makeup artist and could do her own makeup.

And a soft-box was used in this picture ... without any power ... as the pure white background. A styrofoam reflector was used to direct reflected light to the far side of her face. The window can be seen in the catch-lights.

Post-processing:
* Conversion from RAW using Camera Raw: temperature set to daylight, exposure +0.4, shadows 2, brightness 49, and contrast unchanged.
* Cloned out loose hairs and and a couple of spots on her face.
* Levels to whiten the whites of the eyes.
* Levels to add a bit of contrast.
* Merge layers.
* Sharpen using High Pass filter and vived blending mode.
* Save for Web.

Very nice lighting. I think the negative space works very well for the shot. The composition is right on. And the sharpness and clarity are right on. Nice work.

This has potential. I really like what you are showing me but the PP looks off. Something strange about the eyes? I'm not certain if this is right or wrong but I believe it's generally not good form to cut off the chin.
