Okay - it's the skull of a flightless bird - the Jackass Penguin...but maybe that adds to the concept of "missing link"??

I love the idea of the leap from birds to planes here. Photographically, this image needs a solid depth of field (DOF) though, meaning the plane is just outside of the DOF. My preference would have been to stop WAY DOWN (f/30+), to increase the area in focos. Good cropping, and I like the desaturation for this image! Good studio setup.

Excellent interpretation of the challenge. I tried to do something similar in a Free Study and I bombed.

Creative idea! Is this a Seagull by chance..judging by the beak? Nice job!

My only complaint here is that the lighting setup is a bit dull on the plane. The skull has nice variation in tone, but the plane has come up rather flat and boring in BW, and also a little bit soft, which would be helped by a smaller aperture.

I like the floating effect with the black background.

and that will be the accepted configuration until someone proves otherwise. ;-)
