 Back down at the harbor. Those are California Brown Pelicans. They are the most ungainly creatures on the ground, but amazingly graceful in flight. I have expended a lot of my camera's shutter clicks on them. This was taken about an hour after sunrise. I was surprised that the mountain appears so close in the shot, it's really about 20 miles away.

One of my "luxuries" is going out early in the morning, coming home, going next door for a double cappuccino, and then looking at all the pictures I've taken while drinking the cappuccino.

A fascinating picture. You kind of get lost in looking at the depth of the horizon and then get brought back down to earth with the mountains. Interesting photo.

what a great capture! so peaceful and serene. the mountains provide such a nice stable base to those low clouds. beautiful!

This is another wonderful shot (I feel it should be gracing the cover of a CD of new age music). I love the fact taht although the pelicans are relatively small in the image that you dont feel they are engulfed by negative space as the mountains and the cloud formation really give the picture an added dramatic feel and context
