The grime is wonderful, as is the lighting in your image! I love the fringe of green at the bottom and the iron bars behind him, gives nice depth. Very interesting face on that statue, actually :-) |

I really like the grainiess of the statue! It's very cool how you captured some green in front of the photo, it really gives depth to the photo & draws you in to the statue more. Great job! |

You know, I like this. I am always taking pictures of statues (it's a great way to learn about lighting, really -- an uncomplaining subject that can't roll its eyes and run off -- plus the faces are interesting) and I like it when they're a bit deteriorated like this one. Nice capture. |

Great textures and I love the statue, the grime actually makes it seem more aged and austere. |

I love photos of statues (I think that is an underappreciated art). Just a slight change in light and shadow creates a whole new attitude in facial expression. So of course I love the shadows and texture on this.
Ok so now, hopefully this doesn't ruin it for you, I have to say that when I first looked at this, I really thought that the face on the statue bears a slight resemblance to George W. Bush. Just look at the eyes, nose and mouth. Yes, no, maybe? hehe |
