It's good to see you back! I love the big sky.

too much sky

Nice shot! Well done.

Some may feel that this isn't very 'NG'. I love it and it would make a nice little feature shot in the magazine. If anything though it perhaps lacks that key feature of interest that one normally finds in NG shots.

Good use of negative space, sharp details and stark contrast in b/w.

You can't beat black and white to transform what could be a fairly ordinary picture to something that would look good hanging on a wall. Love it

Beautiful contrast really makes this shot very interesing. The road helps lead your eyes through the trees. I think a tiny bit of cropping of the sky would give this even more impact.

Good use of b&w here.

Great composition, light and tones!

Wow quality,I see it hanging on many walls,10 from me!

What a lovely black and white. I love the imbalance in the composition - the curve in the road and the trees fill the bottom with interest, contrast, detail. The airy sky floats above taking up most of the picture. Perhaps the diversion isn't the turn in the road, but into another dimension: up! Has the feeling of a 17th cent Dutch landscape painting. I'm not sure I'v ever seen anything like this in NG, but I'd like to see it on my wall.

great effort. I would like to see the sky darker and more contrast to fit the lower end, but like the composition and leading lines. 8

too much sky, but a nice pic.

Fantastic use of B&W. I really love the calme sensation that gives me your image. I think the choice of B&W was a really great choice.

Very quaint and peaceful. Nicely done!

Very cool shot, I wish there wasn't quite so much sky but Ilike the textures in the shot, black and white works well with this also. Good luck. 9

Makes me want to take a ride to see what's around the bend. I might have cropped it a little different, to remove some of the sky; I find that a bit distracting.
01/19/2004 02:04:50 PM
Beautiful! I would have tried to burn the sky a little darker, but very fine image none the less.
01/19/2004 01:00:19 PM
Very artistic shot, good position of road/trees, nice use of B&W. What would really add here is a tighter connection to the theme, perhaps info on where you are, or why I'm taking the diversion would help
01/19/2004 12:45:43 PM
Good use of b&w and neat negative space.
01/19/2004 12:33:34 PM
I like the photo, but I think a tighter crop might improve it

Where leads this lovely rural path?
Nice B/W, the space leaved to the sky , with the subtle gradations of the clouds, works well for me.
01/19/2004 03:34:57 AM
I like this very much.

I'd like to see this in color. Nice use of negative space.
