July 12th:
I work next door to a knife sharpening place (let me tell you how safe I feel walking to my car when they are standing outside throwing knives at a dartboard). I always get creeped out when I park right next to where they work & there is a little shack outside (the red in the background), and it has a sign that says "Your ass can come in, leave your butts outside" yeah...weird. Today I noticed for the 1st time that among all this strangeness there are some beautiful sunflowers growing. I had to stop and capture the beauty that somehow sprung up next to the creepy knife place.

P.S.I want to thank everyone for their well wishes on the car situation. I am glad to announce that it was an easy fix, and it is up & running again. I was going to post a picture of my car to capture the excitement...but it's not that pretty to look at.

I'd rather work next door to a knife place than most other places. At least you know if won't get robbed. Beautiful flower...I can just see the burly men sniffing the flowers on their lunch breaks.

Kelly, you crack me up! And I can totally feel the skin crawling when walking by this place. Great observations though with the flowers. You know... Sunflowers are the state flower of Kansas, and I'm ashamed to admit that they're "going extinct" and I can't remember why. Nice capture.

Good news with the car.

Really pretty flower! And the red & greens behind it work nice as a background.

This and your day 10 shot lead me to believe that you're starting to see and discover new things. I find that's one of the great benefits of photography. Nice shot.

Nice cheery shot! The red makes a nice background, and I love the little yellow bud things in the center of the flower.

Lovely sunflowers. this would make a nice print for a kitchen of a farm house, or for someone who decorates with sunflowers
